The North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner has published revised Withholding Tables for 2009, which are effective January 1, 2009.
Background
Senate Bill 2199 decreased personal income tax rates for 2009. The revised 2009 Withholding Tables reflect the changes in the personal income tax rates, effective January 1, 2009. The agency is requesting that employers begin using the revised 2009 Withholding Tables as soon as possible. The agency has stated no retroactive adjustments are necessary for prior income tax withholding.

What do I need to do?
You will need to download and install Payroll Update #20916 as soon as it is released so the correct amount of North Dakota withholding taxes will be calculated and withheld from employee paychecks from that date forward. If you have Automatic Updates turned on and have selected all updates to download automatically, your QuickBooks software will download and install the update for you.
