Louisiana Issues New Withholding Tables for 2009

Overview
The Louisiana Department of Revenue has published new Withholding Tables for 2009. The updated Withholding Tables are effective July 1, 2009.
Acts 2008, No. 396 amended R.S. 47:32(A) to reduce the income tax rates and brackets and to provide that the individual income tax withholding tables provided by LAC 61:I.1501 be amended effective July 1, 2009.

Intuit QuickBooks Payroll will modify the withholding tax tables in the next Payroll Update, #20916, to be released mid-June 2009.
What do I need to do?
You will need to download and install Payroll Update #20916 as soon as it is released so the correct amount of Louisiana withholding taxes will be calculated and withheld from employee paychecks that are dated on or after July 1, 2009. If you have Automatic Updates turned on and have selected all updates to download automatically, your QuickBooks software will download and install the update for you.
