Change Direct Deposit PIN within QuickBooks Company File

You may want to change your PIN that is specifically used for direct deposit.
Details
To change your current PIN:
- Go to Account Maintenance page:
- For QuickBooks Pro and Premier: From Employees on the top menu, select My Payroll Service, then select Account / Billing Information.
- For Simple Start: Click Payroll at the top to open the Payroll Center. Click My Payroll Service on the upper right corner and select Account / Billing Information.
- Under the Direct Deposit section, locate Direct Deposit PIN and click Edit.
- Enter your current PIN and the desired new PIN.
PINs must be between 8-12 characters and contain at least one letter and one number.
If you are attempting to transmit payroll and are getting an error that your PIN is invalid, you may have entered an incorrect PIN. Wait for 15 minutes to try again.
If you are using QuickBooks 2008 R7P or later versions of QuickBooks software and forget your current PIN, you may be able to reset your PIN in QuickBooks.
To reset if you forget your current PIN:
- Log-in as Admin in QuickBooks.
- In the Send Payroll Data Screen, click the "Forgot your PIN?" link.
- Type your Admin Password on the Password box.
- Click OK.
- If Admin Password is correct, the Enter New PIN window pops up.
- Enter your desired direct deposit PIN when prompted.
If you are unable to change or reset your PIN in QuickBooks, please call 1-800-624-2106 and select the appropriate prompts.
