    When should I send payroll?

Click on your paycheck date to see the last day to send payroll.

    *Holidays cannot be selected.

    Overview

If a payday falls on a federal banking holiday:

    • If no changes are made to your payroll, direct deposit paychecks will be posted on the first business day after a bank holiday.
    • If you want to pay employees before the holiday, adjust the paycheck date accordingly. You will also need to adjust your submission date to allow for the two business days needed to process payroll and direct deposits (Holidays are not considered business days). If your date change includes the leap year day, February 29, verify your computer/operating/calendar system recognizes the date.
    • If a payday falls within two banking days of a holiday, payroll must be submitted one day earlier than usual. Example: Labor Day holiday falls on a Monday. Payroll must be submitted Wednesday August 28th for a payday of Friday August 30th.

I have a Question. I use Quickbooks to do Payroll and we run the weekly pay schedule and do Payroll on Fridays like most businesses. If I'm going to be out on a Friday can Payroll be done Thursday? Does anyone know the answer?

Outstanding. Exactly what I needed. Just wish I could have found it without having to chat with support. I had searched "bank holidays" & came up with nothing useful

This is good info, but one thing I am curious about - say I want a check dated Wednesday 11/27, but I plan on leaving town early 11/25. Is Quickbooks able to handle me sending my info on Sunday 11/24 if I go into the office that day? Will it accept the transmission but simply not process it til 11/25? Or do I HAVE to submit 11/25 for 11/27 checks?
