QuickBooks prompts for password when summarizing in Excel

Problem
When you summarize payroll data in Excel, QuickBooks asks for a password.
If QuickBooks prompts you for your QuickBooks Payroll Link password, there has been data damage, which you need to fix now.
Assumptions
You have payroll data to export to Excel and QuickBooks, and you have the latest releases of QuickBooks Payroll and MS Excel.
Expected Outcome
You will have payroll reports in Excel.
Details
Run the rebuild data utility.
Run the verify data utility to be sure you have fixed all of the data damage.
Attempt to summarize payroll data in Excel. You should not see the password prompt.
