    Move a QuickBooks company file

    Article ID: 1000474

To move a company file to another computer temporarily so someone else can work on it, you create a portable company file, and then save the portable company file to a CD or attach it to an e-mail. To move a company file permanently to another computer, you back up the file and then restore it on the new computer.

If you make any changes to the original file after you create the backup or portable file, you must make the same changes to the new file after you install it on the other computer.

You need to move your company file to another computer.

    Expected Outcome

    Your file will be moved.
