Brother printer prints payroll forms without data or completely blank

    Article ID: 1000379

When printing payroll forms with a Brother printer, the forms are printed without data or are completely blank.

There is a compatibility problem with some Brother printers that use older drivers when you are printing your payroll forms. Older Brother printer drivers use a default page margin of 0.67 inches. Federal forms require a print margin of 0.5 inches.

You need to download the lastest Brother printer driver for your model.

    Expected Outcome

    You can print the forms.

You have an active QuickBooks payroll subscription.

To download the latest Brother printer driver for your model:

Go to the Brother website to get the latest driver for your model of Brother printer.

Note: Before installing your new Brother print driver, make sure that you first uninstall the previous driver per the instructions listed for your particular driver.

Download the appropriate driver for your operating system.

Follow the directions to download and install your printer driver.

If you are still experiencing the problem, read the knowledge base article "Troubleshooting printing issues."

You might need to map the printer to a different port. If the original driver is mapped to LPT1, you can try LPT2 or a USB port if your printer is connected to your computer with a USB cable.
