To verify Social Security Numbers for up to 10 employees at a time:

Call the Social Security Administration at 800.772.6270 to access its free Employee Verification Service. This service is available Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Eastern time. You need to provide the following information:

• Your company name
• Your Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN)
• Employee's name
• Employee's Social Security Number
• Employee's gender and date of birth
