    Internet Connection Errors IC 67186429, 67186457, 67186445 and 6718407

    Problem

    When downloading a payroll update, you receive the following error:

    • IC67186429
    • IC67186457
    • IC6718407
    • 2079784187

    Typically, the Internet connection, or IC, errors are caused by damaged files, firewalls, or incorrect Internet settings.

    Expected Outcome

    You will be able to download the latest payroll updates.

    Assumptions

    You have an active QuickBooks payroll subscription.

    Details

    Restarting the computer has been known to fix this issue. Restart the computer if you have not already tried this. If the problem is not resolved, try to reconfigure your Internet connection.

    To resolve the error:

    Verify that your payroll subscription is set to Active.

    1. Restart the computer. Open QuickBooks.
    2. Choose Employees > My Payroll Service
    3. Click Account/Billing Information. Make sure the status of the payroll subscription is set to Active.
    4. Click Close. QuickBooks connects with the server.

    Verify that your service key is accurate.

    Check your computer's date and time.

    Add Intuit's URL as a Trusted Site in Internet Explorer:

    1. In Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options.
    2. Click the Security tab.
    3. Select the Trusted Sites icon.
    4. Click the Sites button.
    5. In the Add this website to the zone box enter: *.intuit.com.
    6. Click to clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone box.
    7. Click Close > OK.

    Check your Internet Explorer settings.

    If these procedures do not work, update the security certificate.

    1. If you have verified your date and time settings and the problem persists, go to www.verisign.com/cgi-bin/support/rootcert/getrootcert.cer.
      NOTE:
      If you get a link-blocked error, you need to reconfigure your firewall or contact your IT staff to resolve why this is being blocked.
    2. A File Download screen appears.
    3. Select Open, this brings up a Certificate.
    4. Click the Install Certificate button at the bottom.
    5. At the Certificate Import Wizard, click Next.
    6. Make sure Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate is selected and click Next.
    7. Click Finish.
    8. The message "The import was successful" should appear.
    9. Next you need to go to http://SVRSecure-aia.verisign.com/SVRSecure2005-aia.cer.
    10. A File Download screen.
    11. Select Open, this brings up a Certificate.
    12. Click the Install Certificate button, at the bottom.
    13. At the Certificate Import Wizard, click Next.
    14. Make sure Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate is selected and click Next.
    15. Click Finish.
    16. The message "The import was successful" should appear.
    17. After installing the two certificates, go to https://peg.quicken.com. You should not get a Security Warning.
    18. Open QuickBooks. Try downloading the update or sending payroll again.

    Configure your firewall, antivirus program, or other third-party application.

    Configure your firewall or other application to allow Internet access to the following two QuickBooks files:
    • C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 200X\QBW32.exe
    • C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 200X\qbupdate.exe
    Contact your firewall manufacturer for more troubleshooting information.

    Perform a clean install of QuickBooks in Selective Startup mode.
