Troubleshooting QuickBooks Desktop update errors
QuickBooks Desktop update errors can be caused by one of the following:
- Internet security or personal firewall application settings
- Multiple instances of QuickBooks Desktop for the same version year installed on one computer (for example, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions 16.0 and QuickBooks Desktop Premier Edition 2016)
In QuickBooks Desktop, you will be able to connect to the Internet.
You are able to connect to the Internet outside of QuickBooks Desktop.
If you are receiving a specific error, go to QuickBooks Desktop Support and search for the specific error message.
If there is no specific error message, follow these steps.
Verify and update your Internet connection and QuickBooks Desktop settings.
Configure your firewall or other third-party programs to allow both incoming and outgoing Internet access through port 10172.
