Troubleshooting QuickBooks update errors
QuickBooks update errors can be caused by one of the following:
- Internet security or personal firewall application settings
- Multiple instances of QuickBooks for the same version year installed on one computer (for example, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 16.0 and QuickBooks: Premier Edition 2016)
In QuickBooks, you will be able to connect to the Internet.
You are able to connect to the Internet outside of QuickBooks.
If you are receiving a specific error, go to QuickBooks Support and search for the specific error message.
If there is no specific error message, follow these steps.
Verify and update your Internet connection and QuickBooks settings.
Configure your firewall or other third-party programs to allow both incoming and outgoing Internet access through port 10172.
