    Error 15241

    Problem

    You receive error 15241: The payroll update did not complete successfully. This error can occur if the QuickBooks File Copy Service (FCS) is disabled.

    Details

    To resolve the error:

    Windows 8, 7 or Vista (click here to expand)

    1. Close QuickBooks.
    2. Click the Windows Start button, right-click Computer and choose Manage.
    3. In the left pane, click Services and Applications.
    4. In the right pane, double-click Services.
    5. Double-click Intuit QuickBooks FCS.
    6. On the General tab, click the Startup type drop-down arrow and select Manual.
    7. Click Apply.
    8. Click Start, and then click OK.
    9. Open QuickBooks.
    10. Download the QuickBooks product updates.
    11. Update payroll tax tables.

    1. Close QuickBooks.
    2. From the Desktop, right-click My computer and select Manage. The Computer Management screen opens.
    3. Click Services and Applications > Services. To the right the Services window opens.

    4. Scroll down and double-click Intuit QuickBooks FCS service. The Intuit QuickBooks FCS Properties window opens.

    5. On the General tab, click the Startup type drop-down arrow and select Manual.

    6. Click OK.
    7. Open QuickBooks.
    8. Download the QuickBooks product updates.
    9. Update payroll tax tables.
