Details

To contact the IRS e-file services help desk:

Call 866.255.0654.

Choose option 1 and then 3 (subject to change) for e-file questions such as: Where is my 10-digit PIN and/or email? or Why hasn't my 940 or 941 been received and processed?

When you reach an IRS agent, ask for the e-file 10-digit PIN department. The IRS agent can then send a request to their team that creates PINs asking them to fax the 10-digit PIN to you. The turnaround time is 24-48 hours.

Your 10 digit PIN for e-filing is issued by the IRS and is sent to you directly.  You will need to keep a record of your PIN.  IRS does not send this PIN to Intuit.  If you lose your PIN, you will have to contact the IRS.
