Change direct deposit PIN in QuickBooks company file

Overview

Steps to change the payroll pin through the Account Maintenance Pages.

Assumptions

You must have access to QuickBooks, an Internet connection, and your current PIN.

Expected Outcome

You will be able to change your PIN.

Details

To change your current PIN:

Go to the Account Maintenance page.

  • For QuickBooks Pro and Premier: On the top menu, select Employees > My Payroll Service > Account/Billing Information.
  • For QuickBooks Simple Start:
    1. At the top click Payroll to open the Payroll Center.
    2. In the upper right corner click My Payroll Service.
    3. Select Account/Billing Information.

Under the Direct Deposit section, locate Direct Deposit PIN and click Edit.

Enter your current PIN and your new PIN.

PINs must be between 8-12 characters and must be a combination of letters and numbers only.

If you forget your PIN, you may be able to reset your PIN in QuickBooks. See Change or recover forgotten/lost PIN for processing Direct Deposit payroll.

If you are unable to change or reset your PIN in QuickBooks, call 800.624.2106 and select the appropriate prompts.
